I'll give her this much: Angelina Jolie has a very well-defined style. It's simple, minimalist, and tending towards monochrome. On any other person it might come across as boringly elegant, but Angelina is the sort of beauty who always transcends what she wears.
Still, it'd be nice to see her in a bright color again, just for kicks. See how lovely she is when she branches out?
For the VH1 Critics' Choice Awards, Angelina wore a very blouson Max Azria one-sleeved gown. Paired with the bun and the interesting white Herve Leger clutch, it made for a very elegant look. It's hard to tell from these pictures, but the dress has a very sexy slit up the right leg (see the runway version).
Again, Jolie relies on a thigh-high slit to bring much-needed sex appeal to a gown. This glittering Atelier Versace dress is, again, beautiful, but has a cut quite similar to the one she wore just two nights before and is, again, without color. I do like the gentle sparkle of the dress, especially matched with Angie's understated makeup. A knock-off version of this dress is for sale on edressme for $475.
This is my least favorite of all the dresses Angelina wore during the 2009 awards season. I like the deep blue of the Max Azria dress, but it's as if Jolie's stylist thought, "Well, if we pick something colorful, it has to be boring. And blouson!"
Angelina wore a very beautiful Armani Privé dress to the British Academy of Film Awards, surprising everyone with a close-fitting bodice and a burst of color. I love the neon yellow lining--Jolie has always looked so perfect in yellow--and Angelina's voluminous half-up, half-down hairstyle.Rarely does a celebrity go basic at the Oscars, but Angelina Jolie is very different from the rest of Hollywood. The year she won her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, Jolie wore a slinky black Versace number with long, black hair extensions in what looked like the ultimate homage to Morticia Adams. Jolie's Lorraine Schwartz green jewels are breathtaking, but thisElie Saab dress is just not particularly exciting. If this dress really won your heart, however, you'll be happy to hear a knock-off is available for $258.00 on edressme.

So Angelina wears yet another dress without an identifiable waist--and backwards, no less, as she apparently can't deal with the plunging neckline of the original (see runway photos). I do like Brad's matching kerchief, though.
